Truck

Short Films

Besim, who set out on a long interprovincial journey with the truck escrowed to him, is stuck in the middle of a deserted road in the heart of Anatolia because of an engine breakdown. His efforts to find a mechanic for the truck, fearing that it will catch on fire, becomes more and more complicated with the arrival of kids, a flock of stray sheep, a peasant with a scooter, other peasants with cars, and even more peasants with a tractor, women and the gendarme one after the other.

Like many small towns across the country, Steubenville, nestled in a valley in eastern Ohio, lives and dies by its high school football team. So when a teenage girl was sexually assaulted at a pre-season football party in 2012, no one came forward with information. True-crime blogger Alex Goddard set out to uncover the truth, piecing together the details of the crime through cell phone footage and photos that made their way to YouTube, as well as a nearly minute-by-minute account of events on social media. In the process, she uncovered both the perpetrators and the entire culture of complicity that enabled them. The ensuing trial, which made national headlines, cut to the very heart of nationwide debates about rape culture.

One day after being assaulted by a troop of bullies at the rooftop, the lead character; a teenage boy abruptly starts dancing. The bullies tries to stop him, yet his tapping shoes would not stop. The teenager keeps tapping to enter a classroom where the leader of the bullies awaits. Face to face they start dancing intensely, one tap dancing and the other break dancing. In the end the boy wakes up, finding himself in the same spot he was. While knowing that the reality doesn’t change easily, the boy continues to dance.
